To better serve patients throughout the greater St. Louis area, Siteman Cancer Center has expanded to north St. Louis County. This new location brings nationally-recognized cancer care, including clinical trials for innovative cancer therapies, to residents in north St. Louis, the northern St. Louis suburbs, southern Illinois, and beyond.
Siteman’s north county facility is staffed by Washington University medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons who also practice at Siteman’s main campus in St. Louis and collaborate regularly with other Siteman and Washington University physicians. These doctors provide multidisciplinary care, coordinating their schedules so patients can see as many as three physicians in one trip and have their entire treatment plan determined in a single visit.
In addition to Washington University Physicians, our staff includes registered nurses with specialized training in caring for cancer patients. A research coordinator is also available to talk with patients about possible participation in clinical trials, which provide access to new medications and treatments not available at most cancer centers.
Patients who come to our north county location can also take advantage of a wide range of support services and therapies aimed at helping them feel their best as they undergo treatment for cancer. Some of our programs include Therapeutic Horticulture with the Missouri Botanical Gardens, Touch Therapy with therapy dogs, and gentle yoga. We also have trained social workers on staff who can help patients with specific problems at home or at work that might arise during treatment.
