Jan 2018 MLK Day celebration event brings people together By: Alex Graff 1880 The Christian Hospital Atrium was filled to capacity on Friday, Jan. 12, as the CH Foundation awarded seven students with scholarships and recognized three individuals with service awards at the Foundation’s luncheon in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event, titled “Embracing the Dream — The Beloved Community,” was a celebration of hope and healing for our own beloved community. Marc Morial, National Urban League president, was the keynote speaker, and Carol Daniel, KMOX news anchor, served as mistress of ceremonies. The CH Foundation raises and allocates funds to support efforts such as patient care, advancing medicine and technology, community benefit programs, community health access, staff education and new hospital facilities and equipment. Many thanks to everyone who made this event such a huge success!
