Medicaid Ambulance Response Vehicle visits Christian Hospital
The Medicaid Ambulance Response Vehicle (MARV) has been touring Missouri to bring attention to the Medicaid expansion measure on the August 4 primary election ballot. Sponsored by Healthcare for Missouri, the decommissioned ambulance stopped at Christian Hospital. Team members from senior leadership to front-line clinicians showed their support for the Yes on 2 campaign.
Missouri voters will have the chance to expand Medicaid in Missouri through the passage of Amendment 2 on Aug. 4.
Facts about Medicaid expansion
- Expanding Medicaid will deliver health care to individuals who earn less than $18,000 while bringing more than $1 billion of our tax dollars home from Washington every year — money that’s now going to 36 other states like California, Arkansas, Indiana, and New York.
- It will protect frontline health care jobs and help keep rural hospitals open to ensure that all Missourians have access to emergency care. BJC, along with over 200 other organizations in the state, support the passage of Amendment 2, Healthcare for Missouri.
- Access to care allows all Missouri citizens to get the care they need, when they need it. Delaying care can often turn something small into a life-threatening emergency down the road.
