Advanced Healing in North County
The Christian Hospital Wound Care and Hyperbarics Center
Discouraged by the wound you’ve had for years?
Worried about the new wound that just isn’t healing?
Suffering from pain following cancer therapy?
You don’t have to live with a wound or post-radiation pain any longer.
The only dedicated wound care center in North County, the Christian Hospital Wound Care and Hyperbarics Center is helping patients in the community find healing. The Center specializes in treating both old and new non-healing wounds, or wounds that have been present for at least two weeks and are not healing as expected. Conditions can range from surgical wounds to diabetic and pressure ulcers, but their care doesn’t stop there. Using hyperbaric medicine, they also commonly treat soft tissue radiation injuries, among other non-wound diagnoses.
With a comprehensive approach to healing, the Center’s well-tenured team of physicians and specially trained wound care nurses and staff work collaboratively with each other, across other disciplines and alongside the patient’s other providers, such as their primary care physician or home health care. In September 2021, the team welcomed a new medical director, Chereka S. Kluttz, DO, JD, who brings a wealth of clinical experience in family medicine and emergency medicine and a passion for serving patients in the St. Louis community.
“It’s such a collaborative, family environment with both staff and patients here,” shares Dr. Kluttz. “I absolutely enjoy getting to know patients and seeing their happiness when we make good progress with healing their wounds.”
There are many avenues for healing, and the Center offers the most advanced treatments available, including serial surgical debridements, advanced wound care dressings, bioengineered skin grafts, negative pressure wound therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Many patients are treated on a weekly basis to ensure quick and efficient healing, with treatment covered by most insurance plans.
“What makes us unique is our advanced and aggressive approach, our on-site multidisciplinary team and our unmatched resources that really give our patients the best possible chance to heal, even when other options have not been successful,” shares Matt Flick, director of the Wound Care and Hyperbarics Center. In fact, the Center has a 92% healing rate in 28 days with a 93% patient satisfaction rate, resulting in their recognition as a Center of Distinction in 2020 by their partner, Healogics.
“Too many patients needlessly suffer for too long,” adds Dr. Kluttz. “Wound care can and should be your first option, and we’re here to get you healed.”
