Christian Hospital is out and about in your community
Part of Christian Hospital’s mission is to serve as a pillar of the community we call home, bringing health awareness and resources directly into the neighborhoods around us. We value these opportunities to interact with our patients and their families and friends outside of the hospital walls. Here are just a few of the events and activities we’ve been part of recently…
On Friday, May 5, Christian Hospital leaders visited Arrowpoint Middle School (Hazelwood) and Halls Ferry Elementary (Ferguson-Florissant) as part of the BJC Book Brigade. President Rick Stevens, VP & Chief Nurse Jennifer Cordia, Finance VP Susan Koesterer and Operations VP Brad Goacher read books to the second graders at these schools, and then gave each child a book of their own to take home for summer reading.
Throughout the weekend of May 5–7, employee volunteers from all over the hospital could be found working health info and screening booths at the Ferguson Farmers Market and Florissant Valley of Flowers Festival. The CHEMS crew made an appearance at the Valley of Flowers parade to show off one of their new ambulances, and volunteers helped distribute summertime First Aid items.
And on Saturday, May 6, our Northwest HealthCare team represented at the annual American Heart Association Heart Walk at Busch Stadium. Employees from Northwest’s Graham Medical Center, Rehab Administration and the Office of Administration walked to raise funds that will help more Americans enjoy lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
If you missed us at any of these events, don’t worry! We’ll be out and about in North County all summer, so be sure to join us soon.
