Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) Total Cost: $250 16 hours Prerequisites: Current EMT-B or EMT-P license Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) is the gold standard of education for emergency medical assessment and treatment. Endorsed by the National Association of EMS Physicians, AMLS emphasizes the use of the AMLS Assessment Pathway, a systematic tool for assessing and managing common medical conditions with urgent accuracy.
Students learn to recognize and manage common medical crises through realistic case-based scenarios that challenge students to apply their knowledge to highly critical patients. The course emphasizes the use of scene size-up, history, interactive group discussion on potential treatment strategies, and physical exam to systematically rule out and consider possibilities and probabilities in treating patients’ medical crises. AMLS Refresher Total Cost: $175 8 hours Prerequisites: Current AMLS provider certificate or wallet card
AMLS refresher course is for individuals who have successfully completed the respective AMLS provider course within the past four years. Upon course completion, you will receive an updated AMLS provider certificate and card.
EMT-Basic Refresher Total Cost: $262 24 hours Prerequisites: Current EMT-B license
The EMT-Basic Refresher course is designed to cover the needed continuing education units (CEUs) for recertifying with the National Registry. This course consists of classroom hours as well as hands-on skills
Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) Total Cost: $250 16 hours Prerequisites: Current EMT-B or EMT-P license
Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) provides an advanced and in-depth scientific understanding of the pathophysiology of the most common pediatric emergency issues and stresses critical thinking skills to help practitioners make the best decisions for their pediatric patients. Upon completion of this course, you will receive an EPC provider certificate and card.
Instructor Methodology Total Cost: $500 40 hours Prerequisites: Current EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P license
The Instructor Methodology course is designed to teach the art and science behind becoming an EMS instructor. This course follows the National Standard Curriculum and is designed for EMS professionals interested in developing advanced knowledge to become a competent Instructor. The course dives into information on Instructor Roles and Responsibilities, The Adult Learner, Creating an Effective Learning Environment, Developing and following Objectives, Instructional Strategies and Methods, and much more. After course completion, you will receive a 40-hour Instructor Certificate recognized by the state of Missouri.
Paramedic I Total Cost: $5,500* Part of a two-semester program that spans a year; Prerequisites: EMT license
*$200 non-refundable registration fee due at time of registration; $2650 due at the start of class; balance paid in monthly installments.
In this semester, the student will first focus on anatomy and physiology, followed by an introduction to paramedic science. Topics covered include; EMS systems, drug calculations, public health, pharmacology, emergency medications, medication administration, and much more. This course is a full semester with in-depth lab time.
Paramedic Clinical I
(Clinical Rotations; must be enrolled in Paramedic I)
This clinical rotation is taken in conjunction with Paramedic I. The student will spend their time in the emergency department of local hospitals learning skills such as patient movement, patient assessment, IV placement, intramuscular injections, and medication administration.
Paramedic II Total Cost: $ 5,500* Part two of a two-semester program that spans a year Prerequisites: Pass Paramedic I
*$2750 due at the start of class; balance paid in monthly installments.
In this second semester, the student will focus on treating emergency medical problems, pathophysiology, cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, and learn about many other topics. In this semester, the student will also earn their ACLS, PHTLS and EPC certifications.
Paramedic Clinical II
(Clinical Rotations; must be enrolled in Paramedic II)
This clinical rotation is done primarily on the ambulance with some time spent in specialty departments. The student will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best EMS agencies in the area. This clinical rotation is done in conjunction with Paramedic II. Once all other clinical requirements are met, the student will begin team leads.
Paramedic Refresher $525 48 hours–classroom, Prerequisites: Completion of a state paramedic course
The Paramedic refresher course can be used to educate current Paramedics (48 CEUs) or for Paramedics in training that plan to take the National Registry computer exam. This course will prepare individuals for the National Registry (NR) Exam by providing 40 hours of classroom paramedic training and 8 hours of hands-on skills. The course can also be taken to obtain your mandatory and flexible core hours needed to recertify your NREMT-P certification. The course was developed around National Registry testing questions and gives the student the “need to know” material with multiple handouts to refer to after course completion. Upon course completion, you will receive a certificate and 48 continuing education units.
Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) $250 16 hours Prerequisites: None
Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) teaches EMS practitioners and other prehospital providers how to respond to and care for patients in a civilian tactical environment. It is designed to decrease preventable deaths in a tactical situation is Endorsed by the American College of Surgeons, meets the guidelines established by the Committee on TECC and the updated National Tactical Emergency Medical Support Competency Domains. This course is accredited by CAPCE and recognized by NREMT.
